James Pugh

James L. Pugh (1820-1907), shown here in a portrait from 1859, represented Alabama in the U.S. Congress in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. During the Civil War, Pugh served with the Eufaula Rifles and was elected to the Confederate Congress.
