Tenskwatawa (c. 1775-1836), also known as "The Prophet," was a Shawnee leader who, with his brother, Tecumseh, pushed for Native Americans to adhere to traditional customs and reject white people's ways. The Red Stick faction of the Creeks that carried out the Fort Mims Massacre included followers of Tenskwatawa and Tecumseh.
