Oxford Stroud

Demopolis native Oxford Stroud (1924-2002) was a novelist and professor of English, best known for his autobiographical novel Marbles. Stroud received undergraduate and graduate degrees at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) and went on to teach at the university for three decades.
