Fort Tyler in Lanett

The site of the Civil War-era Fort Tyler is seen on the outskirts of Lanett, Chambers County. The fort was built between Lanett and West Point, Georgia, to defend the bridge crossing the Chattahoochee RIver. It was the last Confederate fort to be taken during the Battle of West Point on April 16, 1865.
