Noble Beasley
Noble Beasley served as president of Mobile's Neighborhood Organized Workers from 1968-1970. He led the civil rights organization
in its efforts to reform voting rights and segregationist practices in the city. Beasley was arrested on murder charges that
were proven to be unfounded and was later convicted of drug charges that many supporters claim were manufactured by authorities
in response to his civil rights efforts. He remains incarcerated and is scheduled to be released in 2013.
