Museum of East Alabama

The Museum of East Alabama in Opelika, Lee County, contains exhibits on the history and culture of Chambers, Lee, Macon, Tallapoosa and Russell counties. It opened in 1989 as a result of a movement spearheaded by Eleanor and John T. Harris. A major renovation began in 2010 with involvement from the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design and Construction.
