Robert Altenkirch

Robert Altenkirch became president of the University of Alabama in Huntsville in October 2011, following a nine-year stint as president of New Jersey Institute of Technology. Since the mid-1970s Dr. Altenkirch has been a professor and administrator in the field of mechanical engineering, his work including studies on flames in low gravity for space shuttle missions.
