The Croom House in Mobile, to which Elizabeth Croom Bellamy moved to live in 1877, was owned by her brother, the lawyer and Confederate Army veteran Stephens Croom. Bellamy and Mary Marshall Croom operated a school out of the home after Stephens's death in 1884.
