John Looney House

The John Looney House near Ashville, St. Clair County, is an outstanding example of the "dogtrot cabin" style of folk architecture. It was built around 1820 by pioneer John Looney and now houses a museum operated by the St. Clair County Historical Society. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The cabin was heavily damaged in a fire in August 2022.
