Johnson Hooper Memorial in Dadeville

A memorial to nineteenth-century humorist Johnson Jones Hooper, located across the street from the Tallapoosa County Courthouse in downtown Dadeville. Hooper's popular Simon Suggs stories, conceived while Hooper worked as a census taker in Tallapoosa County, made the fictional Suggs a Dadeville native.
