Wilbur Jackson
Ozark native Wilbur Jackson was the first African American football player to join the University of Alabama (UA) program, accepting a scholarship in 1970. Jackson entered the National Football League in 1974 and played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins before retiring in 1982.
