Set near Muscle Shoals in the northeast corner of the state, The Shoals lies in the scenic Tennessee Valley region. Each of
its two courses is named for a famous person: the links-style Fighting Joe course is named for Confederate general Joe Wheeler
and overlooks Wilson Lake; The Schoolmaster, named for President Woodrow Wilson (who was known as the "schoolmaster of politics"),
is a more difficult course that follows the hilly, wooded terrain that borders the Tennessee River.
