Irvin Quinn
Franklin County native Irvin Talton Quinn (1887-1972) was a conservationist and educator, serving as Alabama state conservation
commissioner during the 1920s and 1930s. He presided over the creation of the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo in 1929. Prior
to holding state office, Quinn was principal of Clarke County High School in Grove Hill and Lee County High School in Auburn,
and worked for the Alabama Extension Service.
