James Mitchell

Engineer James Mitchell (1866-1920) was central to the founding of Alabama Power Company and served as its president from 1912-13 and 1915-20. His international connections provided venture capital for the building of the first hydroelectric dam in Alabama at Lock 12 on the Coosa River.
