A Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Company (TCI) steel mill and furnace is seen in Ensley, Jefferson County, in 1908. Founded as Sewanee Mining Company in Tennessee in 1852, TCI was a leading industrial force in the South around the turn of the twentieth century.
