Arthur P. Bagby

Arthur P. Bagby (1794-1858) was governor of Alabama from 1837-41, as well as a state legislator who supported President Andrew Jackson during the Nullification Crisis. Bagby oversaw removal of Native Americans from Alabama during the late 1830s, and following his governorship was a U.S. senator.
