Nathan Bedford Forrest

Nathan Bedford Forrest (1821-1877) was a cavalry general in the Confederate Army who defeated Union forces—including a defense against Col. Abel Streight's raid in northern Alabama in April 1863— and disrupted their communications throughout the southeastern states.
