Winston County Courthouse

Double Springs is the Winston County seat and is located within the William B. Bankhead National Forest. During the Civil War, dissenters met at Looney's Tavern in Double Springs to plan a secession from the Confederacy. The county courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
