Lauderdale County Courthouse

Located in the northwestern corner of the state, Lauderdale County was created in 1818 from Native American lands ceded to the U.S. in 1816. The county was named for Col. James Lauderdale, a Tennessean killed at the Battle of New Orleans. Florence is the county seat.
