Civil Rights Memorial
The Southern Poverty Law Center dedicated the Civil Rights Memorial in Montgomery in 1989 to commemorate people who were killed during the civil rights movement. The monument was designed by artist Maya Lin, who also created the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
