Wetumpka Bridge ca. 1880s

Horace King designed and built the covered bridge spanning the Coosa River in Wetumpka in 1844, after the first bridge, built in 1835, was destroyed by flood. King's bridge suffered the same fate in 1886, and a bridge of iron and steel was constructed in its place.
