Downtown Arab

Arab is a small city in western Marshall County, pronounced "ey-rab." Early residents submitted the names "Ink," "Bird," and "Arad," after Arad Thompson, one of the city's founders, but the U.S. Postal Service misspelled the name. The city is home of the Poke Salat Festival, a springtime celebration of North Alabama music and heritage.
