John Pelham

John Pelham (1838-1863) rose through the ranks of the Confederate Army to become an artillery major and military hero during the Civil War. Highly regarded for his courage and charisma, Pelham was nicknamed "the Gallant Pelham," and the cities of Pelham in Alabama and Georgia were named in his honor.
