Mobile-Tensaw Delta

The rivers that feed into the Mobile-Tensaw delta were named for the Native American peoples who moved into the area toward the end of the Mississippian period. The Mobile and Alabama Rivers are named for the peoples of the same names, and the Tensaw River was named for the Taensa people.
