Advocate for Nursing Education
Ida Moffett was a proponent for nursing education in a university setting. She was key to the accreditation of Tuskegee University's four-year nursing program, the first in Alabama, which also aimed at creating equal opportunity for African Americans in the nursing profession. In the late 1940s Moffett's efforts also contributed to establishment of a nursing program at the University of Alabama.
