"Bull" Connor in 1963

In the spring of 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. led demonstrations in Birmingham. Police Commissioner Eugene "Bull" Connor had King and other leaders arrested, prompting the creation of King's famous Letter from Birmingham Jail.
