  • Abolitionism
Abolitionism is the movement to end the institution of slavery. The movement began in eighteenth-century Europe during the Enlightenment, and saw its greatest successes during the mid-nineteenth century as England and the United States outlawed slavery. Abolitionists still struggle to end forced labor and sex trafficking, which remains a multi-billion dollar industry.
