Alabama is the birthplace of some of baseball's most celebrated stars. Long-time home run king Henry "Hank" Aaron, all-around powerhouse Willie Mays, and pitching great Leroy "Satchel" Paige all were born in the state and came through the Negro Leagues during the mid-twentieth century. Today's minor league teams include the Birmingham Barons, the Montgomery Biscuits, and the Mobile BayBears.
