The Coffin Shop was built by coffin maker Edward Kring in Gainesville, Sumter County, in the 1860s. In addition to coffins and this shop, Kring built two churches, several homes, and several other commercial structures in the town. The Coffin Shop was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
