Tuskegee Civic Association Flyer

This 1960 flyer features all the members of the Executive Committee of the Tuskegee Civic Association, an organization dedicated to promoting civil and voting rights and economic development for the black residents of Tuskegee. It formed in response to a redistricting effort in the city that disfranchised almost all of the city's registered black voters and led a boycott of white-owned businesses and a related lawsuit, Gomillion v. Lightfoot, that reversed the state legislation.
