Conecuh Ridge Fine Alabama Whiskey

In 2004, the Alabama Legislature named Conecuh Ridge Fine Alabama Whiskey as the official "state spirit." First produced illegally by "moonshiner" Clyde May in Bullock County in the 1950s, it was later produced legally by his son Kenny. The family lost its license to produce the spirit in December 2004. It is distilled in Kentucky.
