William Bacon Oliver Lock and Dam

The William Bacon Oliver Dam spans the Black Warrior River between Tuscaloosa and Northport in Tuscaloosa County, with its lock shown at the left. It was named for Rep. William Bacon Oliver, who represented Alabama in the U.S. Congress from 1915 to 1937 and was instrumental in raising funds for the structure.
