Jefferson Beauregard Sessions (1946- ) is a lawyer and politician who had a career in Alabama as a prosecutor and Alabama attorney general prior to being elected to the U.S. Senate in 1997. In January 2017, he became the 84th Attorney General of the United States, although his tenure was short-lived owing to conflict with Pres. Donald Trump.
