Journalist and editor Buford Boone (1909-1983) poses for a photo op while covering a story on cotton farming in the 1940s. Boone won a Pulitzer Prize for his editorial in the Tuscaloosa News criticizing the University of Alabama and the Tuscaloosa community who opposed Autherine Lucy's admission to the school in the 1950s.
