"The Americanese Wall" by Raymond O. Evans critiques the harsh immigration restrictions promoted by Alabama congressman John Lawson Burnett. It was published in the humor magazine Puck in March 1916 during the push to pass legislation, sponsored by Burnett, that would eventually become the Immigration Act of 1917.
