Nannie Doss

Calhoun County native Nancy "Nannie" Doss (1905-1965) was a serial murderer who killed at least 12 people and possibly more. Her reign of terror came to an end in 1955, when she was convicted of murdering her fourth husband. She became known as the Giggling Granny and the Jolly Black Widow, among other nicknames, for her upbeat demeanor in court and in the press.
