Gen. Lovell Rousseau

Lovell H. Rousseau (1818-1869) was a U.S. Army general during the Civil War who was responsible for a series of successful raids on Confederate rail lines and other infrastructure in east-central Alabama and west-central Georgia. He served as a U.S. congressman from Kentucky after the war and was one of the key figures overseeing the transfer of the territory of Alaska from Russia after the Unite States purchased it in 1867.
