This 1815 diagram of Fort Bowyer (spelled "Boyer" on this document), located on Mobile Point, was created by John Fox Burgoyne, the inspector-general of fortifications for the British Crown and son of British general John Burgoyne, who was defeated in the American Revolution at the Battle of Saratoga.
