John Hunt Morgan Memorial

The John Hunt Morgan Memorial was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Cast in bronze in Brooklyn, New York, from a design by Pompeo Coppini, the statue depicts Morgan, a famed Confederate general, astride his horse, Black Bess. The statue was formerly located in front of the Lexington History Museum in Lexington, Kentucky, but was moved to Lexington Cemetery near Morgan's burial site in 2018.
