Geronimo at Mount Vernon

Apache chief Geronimo poses for portrait at Mount Vernon Barracks in Mobile County, ca. 1890. He and 450 Apache prisoners of war were imprisoned at Mount Vernon following their surrender to U.S. Army forces in Arizona in 1886.
