Marks House

The initial building that was the core of the historic Marks House was built in 1825 in Pike Road, Montgomery County, by William Matthews Marks. It underwent significant expansion in the 1920s to its current form. It is the home of the Pike Road Community Club Center and was the setting for the 1967 film The Thanksgiving Visitor, based on a short story published the same year by Monroeville native Truman Capote.
