This watercolor painting, entitled Saturday Afternoon Dress, by Huntsville artist and poet Maria Howard Weeden depicts a local Huntsville man in his weekend clothing. Weeden's work aimed to counter the racist, caricatured way in which the city's Black residents typically were portrayed in her time.
