The Execution of Private Slovik

The Execution of Private Slovik was one of Alabama-born author William Bradford Huie's most popular works of nonfiction. This World War II account of the only U.S. soldier executed for desertion since the Civil War was adapted as a television movie in 1974 starring Martin Sheen as the title character.
