Southeastern Blueberry Bee

The southeastern blueberry bee (Habropoda laboriosa) is an important pollinator of native blueberries, as its name implies. This insect is a solitary type of bee and nests in tunnels in the ground. Adults emerge in February, when blueberries begin to bloom, and live only until around April.
