Buford Boone (1909-1983) was editor and part-owner of the Tuscaloosa News. He won a Pulitzer Prize for his 1956 editorial, "What a Price for Peace," in which he harshly criticized the actions of the administration and student body at the University of Alabama for their violent reaction to Autherine Lucy's attempt to integrate the school.
