Great Migration Monument

This bronze statue by artist Alison Saar pays tribute to the thousands of Black individuals and families who left the South in the Great Migration between 1915 and 1970. Many of them settled in Midwestern cities like Chicago, and the monument, unveiled in 1994, is located in the city at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and 26th Place.
