Co-founder and past president Nettie Young, Estelle Witherspoon, and Father Walker recount the Freedom Quilting Bee‘s expansion to markets in New York. As they began filling larger orders, the Wilcox County quilters shifted from unique design work to mass production with fewer patterns.
