Grenville Mellen Dodge (1831-1916) was a brigadier general for the Union Army during the Civil War, as well as a railroad pioneer and a U.S. congressman representing Iowa. Dodge was involved in the failed raid in northern Alabama led by Col. Abel D. Streight.
