C.M.E. Church in Lowndesboro

The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Lowndesboro is a historic house of worship that was built around 1830 as a Methodist church. In addition to being one of the oldest structures in the town, it is notable for its steeple, which is capped by the original dome from Alabama's first capital in Cahawba.
