Horseshoe Bend National Military Park

Horseshoe Bend was the site of the final battle of the First Creek War in 1814, when General Andrew Jackson's forces defeated Creek Chief Menawa and his Red Stick warriors. The park covers more than 2,000 acres and hosts the annual Muster on the Tallapoosa, which includes reenactments of early nineteenth century Alabama life.
